Bodegas Ramón Bilbao was founded in 1924. Already in the 19th century, the Bilbao Murga family and its head, Don Ramón, sold the Ramón Bilbao and Viña Turzaballa wines.

That was a year of abundant snow and great adventures and inventions. The first airplane flew around the world and the first television images were broadcast. Mallory and Irvine attempted the first ascent to the Everest, and perhaps succeeded, although they did not return to tell about it. In Spain, Juan de la Cierva’s rotating wing plane, the autogiro, piloted by Loriga, attempted its first flight beyond the aerodrome of Cuatro Vientos in Getafe, near Madrid. It only flew 11 kilometres but it was certainly a landmark in the history of aviation. The Real Unión de Irún football team won its first cup, the company Telefónica was founded and, on 29 November, the Agreement to create the International Vine and Wine Office in Paris was signed by Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Luxembourg, Hungary and Tunisia.
